With a song book stretching from the juke joints of Chicago to the cat houses of New Orleans, “That Old Chestnut” are re-imagining the blues.

How?

Well, imagine Muddy Waters playing DEVO or John Lee Hooker singing “Hotel California”.

That old Chestnut are repurposing, up cycling and bluesifying modern pop classics by dipping them in the holy waters of the blues, rolling them in the dust of Memphis, and taking them to the crossroads after midnight!

We call this the roasting process.

Since 2015 songs of almost every kind have been roasted to perfection for your enjoyment.

That Old Chestnut comprises of

Drum thumping vocalist, Howlin T-bone Jnr (Sean Wilde),
string bending Blind Lightnin Hounddog (Rich Quiggin)
and bass slappin Shoeshine Willie (Scotty Wilcox)

Over many years these boys have been sharpening their chops over thousands of gigs with various outfits both in Australia and Overseas, but have now found their true religion in the almighty church of the blues.

That Old Chestnut is ready to testify to the thirsty masses in a Juke joint near ya’ll real soon.

Have Mercy !
